TRAVEL GRANT APPLICATION
FOR THE EVENT AT REBECCA FARM
AVAILABLE THROUGH THE GENEROSITY OF:
THE BROUSSARD FAMILY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
This Travel Grant is specifically designed to assist those competitors in the 3* and 4* FEI divisions who plan to apply for the Rebecca Broussard International Developing Rider Grant. The funds are to offset the transportation expenses to help riders compete at The Event at Rebecca Farm held in Kalispell, Montana. The funds will be distributed by the USEA Foundation through the generous support of The Broussard Family Charitable Foundation in honor of Rebecca Chaney Broussard. In the past, these grants have generally been based on mileage.
GUIDELINES
The Event at Rebecca Farm Travel Grant application must be in the USEA office on or before June 1st.
The Event at Rebecca Farm Travel Grant recipients will be notified of the awards by June 15th.
The Travel Grant application must be completed and include your travel financial plan towards attending and competing at The Event at Rebecca Farm at the CCI3*, and/or CCI4* levels.
New for 2024: While in the past all Travel Grant recipients who were also interested in applying for the Rebecca Broussard Developing Rider Grant were expected to sit for an interview with the Grant Committee during the course of The Event at Rebecca Farm, the success of the program and resultant expansion of the pool of applicants have rendered such a universal interview procedure impractical. Accordingly, starting in 2024 there will no longer be an expectation that all applicants must sign up to be interviewed; instead, the Grant Committee may at its discretion choose to invite certain applicants to sit for interviews during the event. Such invitations to interview will be conveyed by email, text, or phone communications directed to the applicants.
Once the recipients of the Travel Grants and award amounts are determined, the funds will be released by the USEA Foundation and checks will be available for pick-up at the Rebecca Farm Secretary’s Office. The Committee will rely on the good faith of recipients that these monies will be used as intended for travel to The Event at Rebecca Farm.
It is strongly recommended that potential Rebecca Broussard International Developing Rider Grant recipients attend the USEA Annual Meeting and Convention, not only because of the potential to win an award and receive it in person, but also to demonstrate active particpation in the direction and leadership of the Association and the sport as a whole, a critical factor considered by the Grant Committee in evaluating applications for the Rebecca Broussard International Developing Rider Grant.
