Tremaine Cooper Fund for Cross-Country Design

In 2021 the USEA Foundation and the USEA lost a great friend and leader, James Tremaine Cooper. A true champion of eventing, Tremaine was an athlete, course designer, builder, father, husband, son, friend, and so much more. Tremaine’s quiet, thoughtful approach resulted in tremendous advancements for the sport of eventing in all areas but especially in the safety and design of cross-country courses. Among his greatest passions was to advance the education of U.S. cross-country course designers. To continue that effort, Tremaine's family has established a fund in his honor within the USEA Foundation.

The Tremaine Cooper Fund for Cross-Country Design will be awarded annually to support the attendance of FEI Level 2 or higher course designers who are U.S. citizens at FEI Eventing Continuing Education Seminars/Clinics that are held overseas (i.e. outside of North America). Eligible candidates must be members in good standing with the USEA. Applicants may reach out to Rob Burk for additional information rburk@useventing.com.
